Sorry for the late posting on this! Here is Monday's homework (due Wednesday). It is based on the movie we started watching - Collateral.
From the part of the movie that we watched, please write a comment sharing your thoughts in the following three areas ...
1) Examples of American culture (at least 3 examples; try to see if you can find any examples that are unique not just to the U.S. in general but to Los Angeles in particular!)
2) Compare this movie to the other movies we've seen so far this semester (4-5 sentences)

1) Fast food Culture. For example, the taxi driver was eating a burger when he waiting for the passage.
ReplyDeleteStreet Culture. When the taxi stopped at one place, I saw there was a lot graffitis on the wall.
Gun Culture. In this movie, gangster and Vincent have guns. It is not usual for people to have guns in other countries.
2) Compared with Hancock, it is more real than that one. Hancock is a superhero, and Vincent is a criminal. In Hancock, there are many humor, but this movie is about crime and its always full of compaction. What is more, the Hancock narrates a long time story, but this movie seems like the story happened in one night.
3) I thought Vincent will kill more people at this night. The taxi driver may probably try to save these people. The police must begin to investigate this incident. The city and these people will get in to a chaos.

ReplyDelete1) 1.About language.there is Spanish, English and a little French in this movie.And Jamie can speak Spanish and English.

3.About guns. Hold a gun is very normal in U.S. Any one can put a gun,then tell u, give me money.Tom has a gun,because he is a killer.but the person who 'looks like help jamie' has a gun,too.
2) The lead in this movie is a normal person, he has a normal dream, everyday work, but, one night, he meet a killer, the killer changed his life.no hero in this movie.（From Hancock）and The cap is not main acter.(from Beverly Hills Cop and Speed.)
3) I think Tom will be killed by Jamie.because Tom Kills more people. And jamie will find another person ,to help himself, to go away from Tom.Tom will be die or goten caught by police.
